Well I need a qt based DE to have a app go to dark mode. Can I make KED look this way? VLC is QT based so I will not go dark mode to match system. I have it dark on my install of linux on my old drive no idea how I did it, instead of fighting it, just go KDE.

Gnome is QT right?

Nope, it's GTK.

I was gonna go KDE but can I make KDE look like?

Yes, KDE is arguably the most customizable DE you can find. It can be anywhere from a dead ringer for Windows 95 to Windows 11 to Mac OS Ventura and anything in between. It might take a bit of effort to get it to look like XFCE, but it's completely possible.

That shot is Mate. I still wonder how VLC is in dark mode on my old Linux? It is QT based so it shouldn't be. I was thinking about restoring a snapshot taken with Timeshift on this install, but not wanting to skrew up my new install. What do I need to do to not mess up the boot?

Always mix those two up.

I know there are some Qt toolkits you can download to configure Qt while in a GTK DE. It's possible Manjaro configures those by default (it's been 2 years since I've loaded up a Manjaro install, so I don't really remember how they set it up).

Pretty sure it's a grub config that will let you boot into the snapshot read only, though I use Snapper personally and don't remember any of the specifics with doing that with Timeshift.

Cause those fonts are so hard to see. Who decided to start making fonts grey instead of black?
