Is a 4TB cold storage PC better than a USB HDD?

So, this sounds like a very dumb question, but I want to know, is there any advantage of going with a system with 4TB of HDD space over a 4TB USB HDD for cold storage?

Well, if you use the drive over usb it will be slower so that’s a downside. But if you use it over usb one could assume it wouldn’t be on as frequently saving read/write cycles and power.

Why an HDD ? Just bought an external USB-C 2TB SSD for 150 bucks (Crucial X8)

It' s faster (1000Mb/s to 600) , less risk of breaking, very long life for cold storage (virtually unlimited...)
