Is it normal for my HX 850 to ramp up during a canned benchmark like valley?  I have 2 780s and a 3570k.  I recently installed a water loop and the thing is whipser quiet at idle but when I run benchmarks the PSU ramps up and is actually quite loud.  I have it pulling air from the outside installed in my 600t.  A major reason I purchased this PSI is because it said it didn't ramp the fan up till higher load.  Am I really putting that much strain on it just running valley or heaven?

Does it ramp up in things like games and other benchmarks? With 2 780s and a 3570K, I would expect it to ramp up in those sorts of situations, so it seems normal to me.

Yeah, I guess it does ramp up in games too.  I always assumed that was the graphics cards ramping up when they were still being air cooled.  Bummer that the power supply is the only thing I can't control the fan on since my loop keeps everything perfectly cool and doesn't make a noise at all.  I suppose I'll have to live with it.  First world problems haha.

It should really be done by the temperature of the PSU rather than the load, but hey, the PSU is the last thing you want to overheat.
