Hello everybody,

Something is up,  i dont know if it's bad but its at least annoying. I have got a Sabertooth Z87 motherboard and a BE QUIET! darkrock3. After my build at the 5th startup i got an error in dos CPU FAN ERROR thats all it says on a blackscreen with the bios company logo at the top. It then says press F2 to start bios. (Note: the cpu fan spins up) I just quit the bios and windows boots up. I checked in AI suite3 if my fan is working and it spins all the rpm i tell it to. Its my first build and i dont really know what to do. My 4670k is not overclocked wanted to see if it was stable idle temp 23celcius and after 3 hours dishonored on max 43. so i think no issues there. this happend 3 times now in total. Any suggestions?

Thanx

you have to plug the fan into the cpu fan header

Plug it into the cpu fan header. If no fan is plugged into that specific fan header an error will pop up.

you can turn the "fan error boot stop" option off in the bios. I had to do the same on my r4e

I had the same problem on my p8p67m. The fan was plugged on the wrong header and it worked just fine but wasn't recognized as cpu fan. Even after I fixed that for some reason the bios still wouldn't recognize it so I just turned off the sensor. it's always worked perfectly from there.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Could you tell me where exactly in the bios. I cant seem to find it.

NEVERMIND i found it. Did a couple of restarts. does not seem to give the error anymore. THANK YOU VERY MUCH MR SKULLBRINGER. you set me on the right path i just lowered the minimum speed of the cpu fan and now the bios is ok with the 534 rpm of my cpu fan.
