CAT 7 Ethernet Cable Recommendation

Hey guys,

I need some help with my new project,

I am trying to connect my router directly to my PC,

The ethernet cable go through infrastructure pipes that are under the floor, then goes outside, and then go back inside through the wall to my room, in the first floor.

In order to do that I need some recommendetions for cable brand,

I'm looking for a 35 meter or 114.8294 feet CAT 7 ethernet cable for outdoor use (Not sure which cable brand is the best quility)

Thanks!

Cable Matters or Monoprice are my usual go to for Cat6a cable.

Cat7, per the spec, requires TERA connectors which are not the traditional 8p8c connections you get on other cables. Anything sold with 8p8c isn't in spec and is subject to being junk. Avoid it completely and just get some good Cat6a if you need 10g for 100m, or just regular Cat6 for 10g up to ~55m.

Hey Lurick,

Thanks for the response!

I would probably choose cat6a cable due to your suggestion,

Is there any difference between Cable Matters and Moonprice cables? (Amazon links)

I would suggest getting something specifically outdoor rated. Those cables could work BUT the issue is UV light which will make them brittle and cause all sorts of issues.

How would you protect this kind of cable?

Should I buy an extra layer of protection? like a flexible pipe?

That would work well, yah, basically something to keep the cable shielded from the elements.
