PC wont post after M.2 SSD Install

Mixo-Max
Go to solution Solved by Mixo-Max,

Update: I Updated the Bios to the newest version and it works now. still thanks for all the helpful comments guys.

I recently a 2tb Crucial P3, installed it, and now my PC wont post anymore. when i take it out, it posts and boots just fine. I tried everything, including setting the PCIe settings to 4x4x instead of 16x, but still doesnt give out any post. on the Mobo, the EZDebug LED for "VGA" is on, indication that the error would be with my gpu or PCIe settings. im going to try updating the bios to the newest version, bot dont think that will solve it. Any PCIe settingi might have missed that would prevent the Gpu and nvme ssd from working?

Config:

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700

MOBO: Msi B450m bazookav2

RAM: 4*4gb ddr4@2667

GPU: XFX Rx5700XT RAW II

PSU: Silverstone 750W

Cooling: 280MM Corsair AIO

M.2 SSD: Curcial P3 2tb

Sata SSD: Curcial bs500 240gb

Hdd: wd blue 6tb

Check to see what SATA ports your motherboard turns off (if any) when an M.2 slot is used.  This may be the issue.

Otherwise, nothing jumps out why a new M.2 would cause a boot issue.

But then at least the bios screen would post, right? I can't even get into the bios with the M2 ssd installed

I tried finding that, but couldn't..then I read the manual. Does this meany that it only supports the m.2 slot if used with an iGPU??

No, it says "Supports PCIe 3.0 x4 (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen ..etc)". You have a 2nd Gen Ryzen CPU(Ryzen 7 2700), so the slot supports PCIe 3.0 x4 speeds.

If I had to guess, it might be an issue of PCIe lanes. Your motherboard doesn't seem to support PCIe x4 speed in the x16 slot without an Athlon APU, so that might be an issue.

No, he's technically correct. Updating the BIOS was the solution.
