I'm about to buy all my pc parts but then i saw that the 7950x3d is coming out so I'm going to wait but will it work on a MSI - MPG X670E CARBON WIFI or ASUS - ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO that hasn't been updated for the 7950x3d or do i have to buy another 7000 ryzen to bios update it and then get the 7950x3d. I still haven't bought anything yet.

Dont worry, both of the boards you've mentioned supports BIOS flashing from a USB stick without CPU or RAM installed (can be installed, but not required) here is the MSI board for example:

The BIOS may simply work with the 7950x3d, as it isn't a major change to the chip.

DO you need a 7950x3d?  The other 3d's will perform similarly and be much cheaper.  Unless you are doing production of course.

Bigger isn't always better for CPU's.

I bought that board in anticipation of Ryzen7000X3D release.

I can answer the "Why?" for me. It was one of the few (maybe only) X670E boards that DOESN'T use Intel LAN for the network. But is also has a good mix of features as well at its' price point.

When compared to other boards at its' price, yes absolutely.

When compared overall to all boards on the market for anything? Yes, AM5 runs expensive.

Yeah, pretty sure it doesn't run expensive.   It's been tested that B650 can run AM5 just as well as the other boards without issue.  Even 7950X.  Or even the mainstream X670's with more features.

Again, trying to justify your purchase is normal.  But at least be honest, and own up.  If you WANT the big bad, that's cool. But saying things that are untrue or even just exaggerated isn't right.

No one justifies a Ferrari purchase.  They just put their Big Swinging Dick license plate on it and go.

Again, don't care how you spend your money but I do take issue with falsehoods.

Show me where what I am saying is false? I did not claim that your board couldn't run any AM5 processor that is currently out, nor did I claim that the board that I bought would do it better.

I said, again, specifically, that IN ITS' PRICE BRACKET, THE BOARD THAT HAS BEEN POSTED ABOUT HAS GOOD FEATURES AND NO INTEL LAN. Full stop. That's it.

The fact that all PCI-E slots on the board are PCI-E 5.0, and that two of the M.2 slots are also PCI-E 5.0, are major reasons why I got this board. I'm looking at long term future support down the road.

But, additionally, yes, I have bought expensive boards in the past. I am currently on an X299 Taichi with a 10940X in the socket.

That's the reason I ended up with my X670E Taichi. I plan to grab every generation on this platform so I wanted something overkill.

That being said every AM5 board minus one Asrock ITX option has USB BIOS flashback so you're fully safe there.

I'm not too sure but does power stages for example 18+2+1 90A on the msi and 18+2 110A a big difference?

If you check the B650 video that's a follow up to the X670 linked above, you'd see that even most of the B650 boards VRM are plenty capable of dealing with a 7950x. The intricacies of those two VRM designs I'll leave to someone more qualified.

Again I just want something that if i plan to upgrade to a different gen cpu next year or so my motherboard can handle it with some oc.

Sorry for all the questions.

If you're familiar with building PC's its no different, really. Temp limit/PBO/Curve Optimizer presets are very nice for an out of the box boost. I'm using this RAM kit and EXPO enables with no issues.

As with (nearly) all AM5 boards, you get BIOS flashback so just throw the latest BIOS on it before you even boot it up and you'll be good to go. This board has a pretty active thread on OCN, second only to the Crosshair X670E HERO thread. Most of the time people seem to be talking about custom BIOSes for RAM tweaking, however. It works perfectly fine for me with the stock BIOSes.
