New 13900K 4090 Build - What Do You Think?

mav91890

My third build. What do you think of it and any recommendations/changes you'd make?

13900K

PNY 4090

Asus Z690-E

CM PL360 Fluzx AIO

TeamGroup 6400MHz DDR5

1TB SN850X

1TB Intel 660P from old build

4TB SN850X

EVGA GT 1000W Supernova

HAF 700 Beserker

Have tried the gpu in regular/vertical mount. Not sure which I like best. Need to get a better cord for it for aesthetics. Some of RGB aren't synced properly.

Looks fantastic!! Only recommendation I would make is to reign in the slack on the GPU PCIE cables. Sticking up so far really hurts the eyes aesthetically speaking. Would also recommend getting cable replacements/extension (Replacement better option) for your Motherboard 24 pin and CPU EPS to match the sleeved GPU cables for a more uniform look.

For sure. I can't really bend the cable too much more and am looking to replace it with a black one that plugs in better but that's kind of hard rn with the current 12vhpwr cables available. I've heard the fasgear ones on amazon work well but a little hesitant to try it out with a $1600 gpu.

I mean, damn, what are you using it for?

I'm playing Hogwarts Legacy and MW2 on it right now with my 32" 1440p 165hz monitor and 75" 4k 120hz samsung tv. Also looking forward to diablo 4. My gf got me the 4090 for christmas and had terrible 1% fps drops with my i7 9700k, so I decided to do a new build.

Really good looking build. A bit more RGB than I prefer, but to each their own.

Sound like me. I joked to myself that if I could get a 4090 at MSRP I would, then watched stocks too closely and ended up with a 4090, then went to a 13900k when a friend wanted to upgrade to a 12900k so I sold it to him for a tad less than eBay pricing.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Definitely want to change to a more simple color scheme. How are temps on your 13900k? Did you ever benchmark in cinebench or overclock?

I'm running a full custom loop for the cpu and gpu with a 360mm and 280mm radiator. I also noticed a couple days ago that I have my water block hooked up backwards. Stock settings on the CPU in Cinnebench I was hitting (IIRC) ~90C, but not thermal throttling. When I get home I'm going to drain the loop and flip that block around and see what it does for my temps.
