Hi all.

I'm looking for laptop that win run Pop_os without any problems. I'm currently on Lenovo Legion 5 and the only problems I've got are high fan noise, high temperature sometimes and low battery (because it can run properly on Nvidia only). I'd rather buy another laptop just for linux to stop eliminate potential problems with dual boot.

Thanks all

I have a Lenovo Yoga 7I with Fedora 37.  Ran Linux Mint 20 & 21 on it for awhile prior to that.  If you plan on installing linux, you might want to wait a few months in the product's life cycle before you do.  Prices will have come down and compatibility will have gone up.

I made the mistake of wiping windows off the drive and booting Mint exclusively.  For whatever reason the sound didn't work.  Mint said there were no driver issues, etc, etc.  I got audio from bluetooth, and the 3.5mm jack.  Couldn't figure it out.

A few months later I posted about it on the Mint forums.  Shortly thereafter system updates fixed the problem.  Only thing that still doesn't work is the using the Fn key to adjust the brightness.  It works on an older laptop with Manjaro & Pop_OS.  Just doesn't on this laptop.  I have not looked for a solution thought so it might be out there.  Doesn't bother me enough to do so when I can click on the battery icon and slide the brightness down.
