So hello yall i have a question. Im building my Pc for the first time and i have no clue what graphic card i should buy.

To start i have a pre build pc because im new to all that stuff switched 1 year ago from console my pc has a  i7-8700 CPU and a rtx 1070 innit so i thought its time for a change. I wanted to build an all white pc but just cant

figure out what graphics card to use im stuck between the Asus GeForce RTX 4090 ROG Strix OC Edition 24GB GDDR6X White Edition and ASUS ROG -STRIX-RTX4080-O16G-WHITE, GeForce RTX 4080. In the beginning i wanted to crab a 3080 couldnt find an 3090 in white but the prices here were i life are nearly the same with the 4080. Yall think i should wait a few months or a year till the prices drop ?

I also would thanks ive someone has a different graphic cards to suggest in white ofcourse.

is it a GTX 1070 or an RTX 2070 that you have?

If you're on a budget buy none of the cards you mentioned. maybe wait for a 4070 or 4060. or buy 3060 or 3070

Do you even need an upgrade? What're you trying to play and at what resolution?

Also since you're upgrading a prebuilt be cautious of PSU constraints and what power connectors you have for the GPU.

are AMD GPUs an option for you?

it isn't as easy as just buying a 4090

4090 is currently the fastest GPU on the market,

your CPU was released 6 years ago,

stronger GPUs are faster but suck more power, 4090 needs a high quality  1000W PSU,

such GPU can be bottlenecked by your CPU and probably even RAM and Motherboard.

What that means, is the CPU will not prepare frames fast enough for the GPU to display them, resulting in decent fps, your 1070 or 2070 probably can already make...

if you're building a whole new pc, there is a "Builds and Planning" topic, where simply saying your aim and budget will summon a random linustechtips user that will magically recommend you the best options for set price and aim, you may include details aswell, like everything being white, etc.
