Right click acting up

First off, I got a brand new GS70 laptop with Bit-defender security, so I know my issue isn't some sort of hardware/virus issue.

What happened was I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1, and I don't know if this can create an issue, but I didn't uninstall Startisback before I did.

Anyhow, whenever I right click in the file explorer (My Computer, a USB stick, or left click on the file shortcut), it thinks,... says it's not responding...

and quites the whole desktop for and second, and closes all my open files. All this started after I upgraded to Windows 8.1 with Startisback.

I have to say I'm at a loss for what to do, and would really appreciate any help I can get.

Check what is installed and get rid of all the bloatware that came with the laptop, uninstall startIsBack and backup your licence key.

run "sfc /scannow" from command prompt (administrator) and see if that fixes anything. (It repairs system files)

You could install ccleaner and clean up any leftover temporary files and registry entries as well.

Possibly there may be some bits of hardware which don't work well under windows 8.1 which may be causing the issues. This could be a hardware issue, or just a driver issue, so try and update all of your drivers to the latest windows 8.1 version.
