Way to unlink account from Google?

I signed up years ago with my Google account is there a way to change it or unlink it from Google. I want to change the email address of my account

Click on your name in the upper right and under Account Settings you can change it there.

Click your Profile icon & Name on the Top right

Click account settings 

Google 

Sign Out 

 

Go to Your google settings https://myaccount.google.com/

Data and privacy

Connected 3rd party apps (scroll down)

If you see LTT Forum Under Signing in with Google there remove it (Or any unneccecary apps) (It will remove the login data from The website you deleted also so You will nolonger be able to log into the Website through Google)

You need to add to password for forums. Email is same, so you can use Forgot Password function.

That should no longer be required, it should be possible to add a local password in account settings directly now.

Before I unlink my account from Google I need to set a local password for the forum right? I don't see where to do this.

I think you should be able to configure it in https://linustechtips.com/settings/password/. If that doesn't show the password change form, you might need to use the password reset flow (https://linustechtips.com/lostpassword), and I will be disappointed that the forum software devs still missed this despite doing almost all the work for it...

Only the second link works The first link says 

 

I am still not clear on the steps I need to change my email address (it will not be a Google email)

That's sad. To switch away from your Google account entirely:

• Add a local password using the password reset flow
• Go back to account settings and update your email address
• Still in account settings, unlink your Google account

I just completed the steps and I think it worked! Thanks so much!
