I've got a Ryzen 5 5600x on an x570 Aorus.

Then the two above will do nicely.

So I've got some nice RGB ram sticks and I want to get a aftermarket CPU cooler that isn't an AIO that doesn't cover the ram, I've found the Scythe Fuma 2 which seems to be offset to the left but I'm wondering if there's any alternatives.

What CPU do you have? Be Quiet Shadow Rock 3 might be a good fit. And by extension the DeepCool AK500.

I think I'll go with the Deepcool AK500 it looks pretty slick and I don't have to import it like the Fuma 2.

Is there any reason to get a different fan or thermal paste? I'm assuming it comes with paste but I can't find anything on the product page to indicate that.

There's a new Noctua low profile cooler that was just launched, advertising that it doesn't go outside the socket AM5 footprint, so it doesn't block ram sticks.

Should be backwards compatible with AM4, it's designed for 65w TDP but Noctua says it can handle 105w tdp cpus as well. Your 5600x is 65w TDP so it should be fine.

Or maybe get the older AM4 version of the same cooler.

Saw it mentioned in the GamersNexus news video here (16:10) :
