Will Win7 admin PW reset using Utilman/CMD exploit delete data?

Real_Smoky

Hello, everyone!

My friend has an old Windows 7 PC and has locked himself out of his main/admin account. He is not tech savvy at all, so this is no surprise. However, he would like to try and access it.

My dad and I are a little more familiar with PCs but there is a bit of a generational gap between us and I have never tried this method personally. I have found a tutorial to reset the account password on Windows 7 using the Utilman/CMD exploit. However, my dad thinks that using this will for some reason delete all/most of the data on the PC, especially in any user folders.

So, does this exploit delete data and files?

Thanks!
