Found two monitors that should work for me, looking for a second opinion.

FudgeBot47

I have a 3060, decided I want 1440p, high refresh rate so I have good options for both fast and scenic gameplay. Good colors are also important to me, as my current main monitor has really crappy colors. Also a contrast ratio that isn't utter dogcrap would be nice, as my current display (Asus VG248) has brighter blacks than my plasma TV, it's even noticeable in a well-lit room. I'm trying to decide between these two panels, but am open to other suggestions.

LG 27GL83A-B

Gigabyte M27Q

These are both 1440p, they have 144Hz and 170Hz respectively, they have IPS with good color accuracy, and they are both going for about $400 Canadian rubles.

The M27Q has slightly higher contrast ratio, and no G-sync. That's the main difference.

I game in a well-lit room, I actually prefer not to be in the dark, so I'm not sure if I'll notice marginally better contrast ratio anyway.

G-sync is a nice to have, I'm kinda leaning towards the 27GL83A-B.

BUT; if any of you have other display suggestion that are max ~$500 Canadian, I'll take a look.

I just bought an LG Ultragear and I like it a lot, especially because of the anti-glare since my PC is right by the window. Haven't tried HDR yet but considering it supports it the blacks should be decent, at least for an LCD display. People I have talked to say that they don't notice a whole lot of a difference between 144hz and 170hz.

I probably forgot about this comment so quote me if you need a response.

Unfortunately due to the monitor's lower peak brightness and lack of local dimming zones, HDR won't look like much on this display, but thanks for sharing your experience! That anti-glare does sound good as my PC also faces a window.

It is pretty good. During mid-day I usually only have to set the brightness to around 20% and I can still clearly see what I'm doing.

Also if there is any noticeable ghosting it's pretty hard to tell considering that I don't notice it.

BTW how are the blacks on the display? I'm not expecting like super inky blacks, but as I eluded to above, I don't want blacks so bright they're clearly noticeable in a lit room.

The LG has some of the worst contrast for modern monitors, but even then in a lit room it's not too noticeable, the m27Q-P is better at contrast but has less color gamut coverage.

Either of those monitors are fine imho

After messing around with the settings for a bit I got the blacks to look pretty darn good. Setting it to 'HDR Effect' produces the best blacks imo. If you don't like it using the black stabilizer or black level settings do a good job too.

I probably forgot about this comment so quote me if you need a response.

Really? I thought the colors looked almost as good as my Pixel 6a's oled panel.
