Cleaning advice for backpack

Go to solution Solved by LinusTech,

What you've done is fine. Just make sure it's not sticky anymore.

Hey all!
Ive had my backpack for probably around a week now, and its been super useful for my needs. I have made a mistake in judgement though. I had purchased one of those larger monster energy drinks with the twist tighten caps, and I put it in the waterbottle holder of the backpack thinking that the cap would prevent liquid from coming out of the bottle. I was wrong. It wasnt a massive mess, but some liquid did spill into particularly the water bottle holder area. So far I have wiped the area with a slightly damp paper towel. Wondering if I should take further steps to clean it, and if so, what?
Any advice appreciated. Thank you

Hope it's okay for me to add to this thread. I discovered today that one of my cats peed on my backpack. Is there a safe way to wash the backpack without damaging it? I was going to try a gentle cycle and then air-drying it, because I saw it suggested elsewhere, but I thought I'd check here first.

I don't see any problem with throwing the backpack in the washing machine. It's more durable than typical clothing. I would probably put it in a big mesh bag to prevent straps and zippers from snagging on anything.

The care instructions are listed on LTT Store's backpack web page: https://www.lttstore.com/products/backpack?srsltid=AfmBOoo2J3Q8ELVBw94tTRrP8FneNwxUfhIAVYgSm4sU5u1psCkIfWwU

Yes, but plenty of clothing have similar labels and warnings, and most people don't listen to them.

If the LTT Backpack can handle motorcycle crashes and being a miner backpack for 1yr, it can withstand the agitation of a washing machine and mild detergent.

@saintlouisbagels I agree. I mean, if it were my case, I would not hesitate to put it in the washing machine. I am certain that it can withstand a wash, with moderately warm water and detergent. In any case, I assume that Brendon is not aware of the suggested care instructions provided by the LTT team. If he is a pedantic person, he might follow the "rules", so to speak. At the end of the day it's his decision. The more info he gets, the better.
