Hi so i’v never got a rack mount case before so I apologies if what i’m asking for doesn’t exist.

I need a PC case that supports any size up to 4U but a depth of 400mm as my rack mount housing is only 450mm deep and I think 50mm should be enough for cables.

Ideally about to support a normal PSU not a server one and a full size PSU if possible, support for 2 HDDs, full ATX motherboard as i’ll be running a 10th gen system. I don’t need any space for a GPU as I won’t have one.

Iv been looking for something that fits this build but a lot of the server cases don’t tell you information of what they support like regular PCs.

Or even if there is a way to rack mount a regular PC case that fits the size specs i’ll do that too. Any suggestions would be great thanks

the issue you're gonna find, is that the front chunk of most rackmount cases is for drives, not cables, and they're a lot more than 40mm deep.

This might be as close as you find:

there are some very short depth chassis out there, but ususlly the drive mount options for those are pretty much terrible.

i found this one, which is 380mm deep: https://www.yakkaroo.de/19-inch-4U-server-chassis-IPC-G438-38cm-short

but it's from a german site and shipping might be expensive.

They aso have some other options like this 300mm 3U option: https://www.yakkaroo.de/19-inch-3U-server-chassis-IPC-C330-30cm-short

That’s a pretty good idea, I might look for another case as that one is a little expensive but I really like the idea of just making a DIY one

You can get rack mount shelves and then set a regular case on top of that as well. I did this for a while before I got dedicated rack mount casesPXL_20211218_010702263.thumb.jpg.b6f19c38572a884f840220ce5e55f3a9.jpg

EDIT: and with the rosewill 4U:

Spoiler

rack mount case are not cheap. home theater case are not cheap but like Takumidesh said can use a cheaper case and a shelf.  the 4u draw is not that cheap ether and most likely cost as much as a home theater case in the end but its a blank canvas if you have the tools and now how that is.
