Hi all,

I'm very new at the whole pc thing when it comes to gaming however, I am looking to upgrade from my old PS4 to pc gaming.

I do not have a huge budget but I have found a secondhand computer with the following specs and price (AUD pricing).

The seller is after $1100 AUD - which is around $786 USD or $1,049 CAD - the computer comes with receipts and is approx 3 months old from when the owner built it - is this a good buy?

SPECS:

i7 12700K

32GB ddr4

500GB M.2 nvme

rtx 3050

Cooler Master 850w 80+ Gold modular psu

Asus B660 plus motherboard

Generic Antec case

Windows 11

The games I am interested in playing are: The last of us 2, Fallout 4 and will be looking into other games that get my attention. As for display I will be hooking it up to my 55" 4K smart tv and using a wireless keyboard and mouse I already have.

Thanks in advanced.

you will not be able to play games at 4k with 3050 😞 3050 is more of a 1080p card if it is the 4gb one it will barely handle 1080P with modern games.  everything else about the system is OK

Oh ok, good to know thank you. Th graphics card is: GALAX GeForce RTX 3050 EX (1-Click OC) 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card - if that makes any difference? Would the TV change the game fps or more so change the display to 1080P. Not sure if that makes sense sorry as I don't know much about gaming.

8Gb model will able to handle 1080P. Yes you could change your TVs resolution to 1080P and game on it will not harm the fps or use dlss to upscale it.

Great, thanks. What about the price of the computer? Is it a good, decent, great price or would there be a better option for around $1100 AUD?

This PC will give you a better overall gaming experiance and it can play games 1440p natively and 4K with FSR. The pc that you mentioned is OK value it has a overkill cpu for gaming and underpowerd gpu that is the issue with that build the guys spend money on some stuff way more than he needs to and cheaped out on other stuff that matters more

It's ok for second hand, not great imo but fair i guess. Bloke bought some odd parts for the price range though, Could build something new for close to what he's asking and slightly better.

Just remember pcpartpicker is next to useless here for pricing if you dont have time to pick everything up in person, as each shops gonna put 15-25 bucks on for postage.

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige
