My setup:

MB: GIGABYTE Z690 GAMING X DDR4

PROCESSOR: I7 13700KF

GPU: GeForce RTX™ 4080 16GB SUPRIM X

RAM: DDR4 Patriot Extreme Performance Viper Steel, 4000mhz cl16.

I just saw a guy with the exact same setup as mine i7 13700kf processor and a rtx 4080, in his 3DMARK results under the processor it says he have 1/24 physical logical cores why does mine only show 1/16.

Bonus question:

My clock frequency is 5400mhz

and average clock frequency is 5300mhz

The same guy i saw with the same system had a clock frequency at 5900 and a average clock frequency at 5600 mhz, and a low 76 Celcius temps.

My clock frequency and average clock frequency is lower than his: and i have 78 Celcius temps.

My CPU cooler is this one:

Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB

Can someone help me to reach same clock frequency and average clock frequency and still get lower temps than my temps that is 78 now?

Thanks in advance, William.

13700KF is a 24 thread processor you maybe have your E-cores disabled or Hyper threading disabled.

Would you be able to guide my getting my clock frequency at 5900 mhz and average clock 5600 mhz and maybe also a little lower temps?

Here is a link to the support aka manuals for my motherboard bios: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z690-GAMING-X-DDR4-rev-10/support#support-manual

Read about the e-cores.

Will, I have a question. What is your goal here? Is it to push for records? Or daily drive a stable rig? Are you missing performance in a specific game or application? Do you just wanna see a big number get bigger? Are you trying to delve deeper into computer knowledge? These are all completely reasonable goals, but they will influence the direction we should give you

Hello Ood, i think it would be awesome to learn more about computers and overclocking.

I would also like some extra performance from the cpu, that even comes with lower temps as the guy i compared my benchmark with.

Learning more is *always* fun. This is a pretty good guide about how to go about overclocking, though I found a decent set of basic steps elsewhere on the forum

Quote

If you have Intel:

- Google your max safe voltage.

- Increase clock speed until fail. (fail = failed boot, failed cinebench run or failed AIDA64)

- Increase voltage and retest.

- Repeat above cycle until you reach desired OC or max safe voltage.

- Enable load line calibration to prevent V droop under load.

As for getting extra performance, honestly, with modern chips, if you want a stable daily driver, there isn't much headroom to OC beyond just using Intel XTU and setting most of it to auto OC and getting fast RAM. But tinkering can be super fun.

One major thing to know is that you are playing the silicon lottery. It's possible that you got a chip that isn't stable at literally 0.5% OC, though it's also possible that you have one that can get a full 7% boost over normal performance. So don't get down if you can't get the same numbers at the same temps as someone else.
