I can't say I've heard of them here in the UK...but as long as they have that 80+ logo, there's not much to say apart for the fact that it's just another PSU.

I believe FSP make server grade power supplies, so their consumer units are pretty good

FSP is in the top 5-10 brands, (is also an OEM) but yours isn't anything special. Their more high end stuff is worth it.

1. Antec

2. Seasonic

3. Cougar

4. Enermax

5. LEPA

6. FSP <---------- (IMO)

Half of them dont even manufacture psu's..

It's pretty much Seasonic & Superflower & Flextronics that are leading now

@Faa:

All the brands on that list except LEPA manufacture their own PSUs. Cougar is a subsidiary of and wholly owned by HEC Compucase who manufacture all their PSUs, and while their low end PSUs include some turds, their high end is very high end.

1.superflower & seasonic

2.the rest

Superflower, like Corsair and other bandwagon brands you'll see on this forum, are great for money to performance ratio, not for the sheer quality of their best stuff. (Though the most recent 1500W unit from Corsair got a big thumbs from Johnnyguru which is great, but only one unit so far) The PSUs on my list are the highest quality PSUs on the market, money taken out of the equation.

unfortunatelly that info is incorect. antec does not manufacture psus, their oems are seasonic, channel well, delta,FSP and enhance .also there are way way better psus than cougar, which are all mediocre http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php? http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=358name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=305

you cant say superflower, like corsair.because corsair doesnt manufacture psus.

superflower and seasonic are the highest quality . all the psus listed below are superflower . perfect 10 on perfornance

"unfortunately", you're wrong - for a couple of reasons:

1: Cougar is only represented with a couple of PSU lines in the North American market. (Where Johnnyguru resides - and who only rarely gets hold of EU products) The majority of Cougar and HEC Compucase units, especially the cost-prohibitive ones, are only sold in the EU and Asian market.

2: HEC Compucase's PSUs are in 90% of the medical equipment in the world for a reason.

3: Lifespan is perhaps the most important characteristic of a PSU, something that doesn't come across in reviews. HEC Compucase (therefore, Cougar) units have amazing lifespans, a good portion of the reason they are the go-to MFT for medical equipment.

"The voltage regulation on the 12v rails, however, was not one of those things that it did well. The overall voltage regulation on the 12v rails was variable, but at worst the unit saw a drop of 0.33v at 120v and 0.45v at 100v. The minor rails saw peak changes of ~0.1v across the loads we tested and this result, along with the 12v regulation, are not exactly great results."

"In the Transient Load Tests, we see the test results for the 900W GX unit come in at a pass, but it is not a good pass. The peak change on the 12v rail, when it was directly loaded, hit a value of ~410mV in Test #2. This results in the unit bottoming out at 11.44v, just ~40mV away from the ATX12v specification lower limit. During Test #1 the 5v rail had a peak loaded change of ~210mV which is greater than the ~190mV value we saw in Test #2. However, that Test #2 value means the unit hit a low point of 4.78mV or just 30mV away from the ATX12v specification lower limit for this rail. So, overall, the unit did pass this portion of testing but the results just aren’t good."

That power supply isnt even properly within the atx spec and I dont understand why you claimed it's one of the best quality psu's. Sorry but it's still Seasonic & Superflower who are king, AX1200i didnt score that well in hardocp's reviews as Seasonics/SF's. FSP should be avoided HEC and all other junk you brought up should be avoided as well. Superflower is still not beaten in terms of price/performance.

How this turned into discussion on people's opinion on what is the best? If you are looking for a PSU of uncompromising quality and don't mind spending money for it, a PSU from Delta Electronics (largest PSU manufacturer) would be on top of that list, in which Antec goes to them to have some of their PSU made (along with OEMs such as Seasonic and FSP) as shown with their Antec HCP Platinum. I would also put Flextronics to be up there along with Etasis as well; although, the EVGA NEX1500 was quite a disappointment as it was rush and was not market ready.

There had been an interesting conversation at Jonnyguru in the discussion of the Deepcool DQ1250 review. Talks about how Enermax had closed down their factory in which the units that were manufactured by them are now done by CWT (one of the OEMs that makes Corsair PSUs as well as some of Enermax / Lepa PSUs originally); how Super Flower had displayed some great engineering capability with a lot of their recent releases like the Leadex, but has a limited production capabilities due to older equipments and a single production line; how this guy is grouping a consumer grade company (Seasonic) with a server grade company (Delta).
