I've recently bought beamNG and its LAGGY. Its the first game I've come across that lags on my pc. I've got a GTX 670 and an Fx-6300. I know the processor has weak single threaded performance so might this be why my game lags?

*I run at 1400x900 every setting on low for beamng to get ~25fps but run games like far cry 3 maxed for solid 60fps.

It could bottleneck slighty do you have this problem in all games?

And how much ram do you have? and is it running in dual-channel?

try reducing quality/post process settings, & upgrade your ram maybe? AMD processors do favour faster ram/memory speeds! ;)

The APUs do with their integrated GPU. FX Does not; infact it hardly scales past 1333mhz on Vishera.

For OP: at 1400x900 you should be CPU bottlenecked, could you overclock your CPU and see if it adds a few FPS? From that we'd know that the 6300 is the bottleneck there. I think he also meant to say "not FPS lag" :)

your not bottlenecked because of your cpu, your bottlenecked becasue the game is a starter and has likely had F*** all optimisation so runs like sh*t.
run task manager while gaming and alt+tab and see if any cpu cores are maxed, if they are-overclock, if they're not blame the dev.

Reading the OP I would say the same, it's probably not polished/optimized.

Monitor your CPU usage like D3MON says, I doubt that title is using all of the CPU power anyway.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Nearly forgot about task manager, I've maxed out the sixth core and thats about it. The other cores are pretty much doing nothing.

I've forced phyx to use the graphics card instead of auto and this already seems to have lifted the fps to around 30 so I'm just gonna say its either poor core performance or bad coding.

Cheers guys.

You're cpu limited when your gpu loads are below 99%, that's it. Don't bother monitoring your cpu loads at all it just means nothing.

BeamNG is definitely a lowthreaded game that probably doesnt see any performance gains after 2-3 cores and it's a game that mainly relies on physics which is by no doubt done by the CPU:
