Did you plug the pump in?

Did you plug in the pump, and are you sure you mounted it correctly? Also, just to make sure, IIRC there is some monitoring software reads Fahrenheit by default for whatever reason instead of Celsius (IIRC it's Corsair's, but don't quote me on that), so if you misread 100F as 100C, that would mean that your CPU is idling at a perfectly reasonable temperature.

Did you make sure to peel off the warning label sticker on the pump/waterblock if there is one:

This is a common mistake. People just put thermal paste right on it (a plastic sticker) and mount it right up. Not good.

A whole host of things could be causing this, not limited to:

  • did you take off the plastic cover on the block?
  • is your block properly mounted?
  • is you pump plugged in?
  • is your pump plugged in to a port that is designed to support a pump (see mobo manual)
  • is that specific port set to PMW fan control mode? You want a fixed 100% all the time, as you don't want your board to try and throttle you pump depending on system load.

Can you hear water/pump movement when you turn on your PC? It should be distinctly different from regular fan noise. If not you may have a problem with your AIO.

Just installed a new Intel 5 12600k with a new liquid cooling CPU cooler. Booted the system up and CPU temps at idle was 100c. Help please. I applied thermal paste between the CPU and the cooler. Did I miss something??

It was the pump hookup. I have an auxiliary control module for the RGB and I mistakingly hooked the pump controller into it. Macy thanks for the help everyone.
