SSD at 100%

sl0011

As shown in the image below, I have an SSD that goes all the way up to 100% when opening any program stored in it. It's not even my main drive, I bought just to store games. Any idea on why is this happening and how to solve it?

Is it actually negatively affecting anything, or are you just concerned that it pings up to 100% usage? Because the ping to 100% is not unusual.

Yea, Dota 2 takes forever to update (less than 20 mb), I have stutters in the game, it takes a lot of time to complete almost any action that is related to the drive. Moving game files, updating, pausing a download. I wouldn't care to see it at a 100% if it had snappy performance. The thing is that even after completing an action, it stays a very long time at 100%.

How much free space left?

What does Hard disk Sentinel say about the drive health?

What brand and model of SSD is it? How old is it? How much of its space is utilized?

I tried to do that, apparently, there is one, but it doesn't detect any SATA drive, even when opened as admin.

image.png.5c7510146032e7dee68fb11bab4457e4.png

Which chipset drivers are you using, especially the drivers for the SATA controller?

Some tools like that require the use of the Microsoft default drivers for the sata controller, some require the manufacturer drivers etc.

Apparently uninstalling Wallpaper Engine helped because I was able to get a good Crystal Disk Mark Score (I couldn't even get scores before) and I managed to update Overwatch 2.

I still want to update the firmware but even though I manually uninstalled the SATA Driver in order to get the Windows one, the tool is still not working.

You have to install them, not just uninstall the AMD...
