One m.2 ssd not recognized in pcie 16x adapter

Mossie9

Hey guys,

I have a m.2 adapter installed in my second pcie 16x slot. There are two ssd's installed on the adapter. This was working just fine before. But after i updated my motherboard, installed a new cpu and reset windows it only recognizes one ssd on the adapter. I switched from a ryzen 2600 to a ryzen 3600. How is it possible that it won't work antmore? is the 3600 not capable somehow?

My system:

MOBO: msi x470 gaming pro

CPU: ryzen 2600 (before) and 3600 (after)

First pcie 16x slot: rtx 3070

Second pcie 16x slot: adapter with 2 gigabyt aorus m.2 ssd's

First m.2 slot: samsung ssd

Second m.2 slot: gigabyte aorus ssd

is it a smart PCIe card? otherwise you might have to re-enable PCIe bifurcation in your BIOS again for the slot that card sits in.

I checked in the bios and there was indeed an option for bifurcation. turned it on and it works again. Thank you so much! Have a great day!
