USB Switcher Signal Drops on Laptop

hbsterling

I have tried 2 USB 3.0 switches and when it is connected to my desktop there is no problem. However, when I connect to my HP laptop sometimes the signal drops on the mouse/keyboard. It seems to be a problem on this laptop but I cannot change it since it is a work laptop. Any suggestions on new USB switcher or can the problem not be fixed that way?

Go into system control, power settings, advanced settings and edit both profiles, for when on battery and when plugged in. You are looking for an option do selectively disable USB devices. Turn that off. Also disable PCI-e power savings. Should help unless it a specific bug with that device.
