Thoughts on a Upgrade

JinzoMT

Hey everyone!

I was planning on getting a new GPU and I was looking for some opinions since I can not decide. I am really trying to find a great card for a decent price since my budget is not crazy. My current rig is a Ryzen 5 3600x 16GB DDR4 Corsair vengeance, 1050ti, and a Corsair 500w power supply. I am mostly looking just to play average games like Overwatch, Elden Ring, and Valorant with and decent frame rate, nothing too crazy. I was looking at the RTX 3050 since the card seems fairly priced with good performance. However, I heard people saying 1660 was a good card for cheap, as well as the 2060 super, but 2060 seemed to be the most expensive out of them all.

I am just looking for some advice, anything helps!

RX 6600 XT (or RX 6650 XT) is the best imo. Costs more than 2060 etc, but is great price for performance.

Although depends if new or aftermarket... latter being cheaper of course. But all the cards you mentioned are most likely used anyway.

On new budget cards only 6600 is worth its price

3050 is overpriced, 6500XT is sh#t if you're not on PCIe4, 6400 is a joke...

Else there's the A770, it's pretty decent, relatively good price ($350), drivers are baaaad, but quite quickly getting better

Need SAM to work ok, not sure you have it with a 3600 ?

the 1660 will not be very good in the coming years. If price is an issue the used market is pretty cheep for RTX 2000 cards, however when buying used make sure to get a good conditioned card. You can get used like new 2060 Supers for like 200-300 USD. That's just my thoughts.

If you want a brand new card go for like an RX 6600, if you don't mind used you can find used RTX cards on Ebay for cheap all day everyday now. Same thing with local classifieds like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. If you're going for a 6600 or higher a PSU upgrade may be beneficial as well.

with a 500w PSU your new GPU might struggle. Maybe a 650w?

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

Why would it ? 6600 TDP is 130W and recommended PSU is ...300W !

I actually MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT OC edition barley used on Facebook market place for $250, I could probably get it down to $200. Do you think it is worth?

I would def not be overclocking, I am planning on upgrading it in the future, but I think the 500w could handle it

OCing a 6600 is pretty pointless...
