7900xt or 7900xtx?

hey guys, with RX 7000 series finally in the hands of the "average" Joe; Should I go ahead and buy a 7900XT or wait for a 7900XTX to be in stock? I'm Loving the

Red Devil AMD Radeon™ RX 7900 XTX

Im coming from a 2060super so either way its a massive upgrade. Im worried im going to wait for minor boost in performance. but also at the same time i went all out with a $4000 budget for my new PC, so should i wait for supply or buy whats in stock? thanks guys!

Really depends on how long you're willing to wait. I personally would wait for the XTX.

If these are the only two cards that exist, with a gun to my head I'd pay $200 more (speaking in MSRP) for the benefits *to me*. Maybe there aren't any to you and that's fine.

Thats fair, i am a bit of an AMD fanboy but the RTX 4000's series just seem insane. if they kept to the same pricing tiers as last gen i probably would go 4090. though im still weary of the new power connector

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey guys, here's an update.

I'm still waiting to buy my new GPU, but 7900xtxs are still few and far between. I found this listing:

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2YpzK8/powercolor-rx7900xtx-24g-radeon-rx-7900-xtx-24-gb-video-card-rx7900xtx-24g

But it's definitely a second seller on Amazon with $200 mark up. And on top of that AMDs stock cooler has had issues. I need an upgrade but I don't want to settle. Should I go for a 7900xt which are plentiful, or should I hold out for the 7900xtx?
