Would increasing ram memory help with running a program through Chrome

There is a program I run through chrome and was wondering if increasing my ram would help it run better. I know Chrome can be a memory hog so I try and limit the number of tabs and/or windows I have open on it. I get part of the way through the process and it starts lagging or appear to be lagging because every other program or window that is open on chrome runs fine so I don't know if it would be worth it to increase the ram or not. My system currently has 16GB and based off the info on the PC I could do as much as 32GB. its an older system that is running DDR3. Its an older Work Station Dell Optiplex 7010. Core i5-3470 @ 3.2 GHz running Windows 10 Pro. The part that frustrates me the most is that it is only the program that causes the lag and when I need to get precise points sometimes takes a couple of tries before I get exactly where I want. So would Ram help or not? or should I try a different browser (the program suggests chrome)?

What program specifically? Are you sure it's not just CPU resources you're running out of? Or graphics related?
