I bought a Gateway NX570XL off of eBay for some money, and it works fine, but I need working display drivers for it because I've tried two different sources and neither were accepted by Windows. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, 1GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo T5600, ATi Radeon Mobility X4100.

Windows rejects it due to the drivers being "unsigned" and even though I have gone through and removed the requirement for signed drivers, it still refuses to use the drivers and defaults to the Standard VGA drivers.

Please help.

My guess is that since you are using only 1GB of ram, the system is getting overloaded when loading the OS so that by the time it gets to loading the drivers, it goes over what it can deal with because the system is too crowded because of the ram limitation.  I'm just sort of ranting here because it's hard for me to type what I'm thinking...

I googled Gateway NX570XL and the first thing that pops up is a bunch of information on ram compatiblility so you might want to give that a read also.  Either way, GOOD LUCK.

I doubt it's the RAM, it's telling me that it's a problem with the driver's signing. Even though I have disabled driver checking in Command Prompt.

Half Baked electronics from E-Bay, Yummm.... 🤖

This was an XP laptop, it is the RAM as well as other problems.

But let's address the drivers first, did you go to AMD and download the correct drivers for your Radeon ?

Did you turn off Intel HD graphics in Bios ?

Mixed brand GPUs has been a problem for any drivers since ~2012 and before, where people installed 3rd party modded drivers to get by,

because MFG. drivers would not recognize the hardware. Not sure LeshCat drivers are still around or the people that make them.

I had to flash the Bios to a 3rd party Bios to turn off the iGPU in an old Acer, it worked, but that's what it takes.

Now for the RAM perspective, my Win7 machine with everything minimal on boot, would occupy ~2.5gb of Ram on the best days.

I am sitting on 2.5gb on Win8.1 right now. So yes, this machine cannot run with Windows 7 with just 1gb.

Get a 4gb upgrade and you'll be sitting pretty. Failure of that, run a Tiny Linux Distro, will run fine on your 1gb.

What exactly are you trying to do with this laptop ?
