Intel Arc A380 On PCI-E 3.0

Does anyone notice any performance loss by putting the A380 into a PCI-E 3.0 instead of 4.0? If so by how much?

I have no experience with the A380, but I can say that the difference between PCI-E 4.0 and 3.0 on most GPUs will not be perceptible.

 

Currently, I am using a PCI-E 4.0 GPU (RTX 3060) on my PCI-E 3.0 system (i9-10900K/Intel B460 chipset) and 3DMark scores still fall comfortably in the average range for this card. I have noticed similar results when using PCI-E 3.0 GPUs on PCI-E 2.0 systems.

I have more... these are the ones that get used fairly often though.

Shouldn't be any issues, if you're gaming you'll want a platform that supports resizable BAR but that's about it, none of the ARC cards are fast enough to need more bandwidth than PCIe 3.0 can offer.

As long as it's a full size PCI-E 3.0 slot, you shouldn't see any issues, especially with a low end card like that.
