What next?

50MinZ

Hello. Looking for advice on what to upgrade next.

I have:
8 Core 10th gen i7
Intel Stock CPU cooler (Looking for suggestions for what to upgrade to. Cant be anything big as Micro Mobo.)
MSI BD460M Micro-ATX Mobo

48GB of DDR4 3600 mhz RAM (Running at 2666Mhz because stupid motherboard)

I know it sounds like a mobo upgrade is due here but I really don't have the skillset for that. Been modding for about 2 months.

Which one exactly? Imagine a locked CPU since you got the stock cooler... also damn mate, stock cooler is such a ear rape had my time with it too x)

Would pick a cool cooler because those are like good forever, Intel at least keeps good air cooler compatibility so shouldn't go to waste.

About lower scores, well you have a locked CPU on a shitty board, it's a bad place to be because expensive motherboard would help but doesn't feel all that worth the hassle for a locked cpu, y'know? It kinda sucks.

That said, is the computer failing to meet your usage needs? What GPU do you have?

No, meets what I want it for well I just really like to mod and watch my performance go up. I have the RTX 3060 Ti. Not sure which stock cooler it is, i can attach a picture of it.

Oh believe me I know how they look hehe I ran an i7 6700 on these too and it was loud then I imagine it only got worse with these latest chips x)

I'd say get a great cooler, that will help your CPU a lot, the cooler it is the better clocks it can achieve and like right now you're likely bottlenecked by heat hehe, I'd say you can see performance gains from doing it to a degree plus the much quieter operation. Something high end that will be useful to any new platform you put together.
