Installing Windows to another drive

I have recently ordered a new SSD (Samsung 980 250gb). I haven't gotten it yet, but it's being delivered on the 29th. But when I do get it, I want to reinstall Windows 10 instead of 11. How do I do this without losing anything on my other drives?

You don't need to worry about the other drives because the installer will only make changes on the drive that you choose.

 

Edit: If reinstalling over an existing copy of Windows is what you mean, then you should pick the "upgrade" option prior to choosing the drive.

Save the data in your other drives and with the ssd connected boot your computer with a windows 10 image on a USB and follow the installation steps and install it to the ssd

simplest is to disconnect all current drives... install windows 10 on the new disk. then connect the other disks again.. you'll have to select the correct boot manager as there will now be two.

Remove the drive. Then install Windows and reinstall the drive. While you can choose where to install Windows, Ive seen Windows do stupid shit like put boot files on a secondary drive. I always install Windows on the drive I want first, then install my other drives later.

You could also run into permission errors if the new windows sees Users and Windows folders on another drive. But I am hoping you don't inherit my curse.

Disconnect all drives on install is the best advice above.
