Hello, i had my pc turned on for about half a day and after turning everything off and sleep. After the next day my pc wont turn on anymore. All i did was do my homework and play video games while recording. I didnt smell any burnt stuff or experienced crashes. It just suddely died. I have a very bad psu, its a Aerocool Vx500 green labeled and i really wanna know if my psu took some parts with it or it died peacefully.

(Sorry im not good at english)

I mean there are only a few ways you would be able to tell if other components were damaged when the pc died is to have a look at them and see if you can see any sort of burn marks, next would be to check for shorts on the components if you have the correct equipment to check for that sort of stuff or you could get another gpu ( a good quality one) and see if everything boots correctly and everything is detected

Thank you for the responds. Sadly i dont have another Pc to test parts out and any equiptment to check for shorts in my components, but i dont see any burn marks or anything. So is it possible that i got lucky and it died peacefully or it shorted out my components. Also i think that my PSU died from overheating or that it gave out after a long use.

I forgot to say that my psu is plugged into a AVR

(please correct me if im wrong because im not a expert at computers and stuff sorry)

Nobody here can tell you if it killed any other parts. That is something only you can tell us.

My unlce gave me an old optiplex 390 desktop pc but he told me that the cpu socket pins are broken.

Can i test some parts there? I checked the inside and theres no ram, no hard drive but i saw a psu and a cpu in there. Will it work ?
