Yesterday I installed a 500gb NVME in my asrock b450 motherboard. After my computer started to bluescreen and come up with a Critical Process Died code. I tried to take out the NVME and it kept bluescreening. I tried to reset my drive and it didn't work. I am able to get to my homescreen but it crashes after a couple minutes. I bought a brandnew 4tb harddrive and it bluescreens with the same code whilst installing windows.

 

This has never happened before and I have no clue what to do. Any tips?

Does your nvme ssd have any firmware required to use it? check the manifacturers website

There is no firmware needed but changes do need to made if I would like to boot from the NVME drive. I have removed it from my system though and I am still encountering a bluescreen error on my 2tb and 4tb hard drive. This did not happen before.

I think it could be a windows issue potentially, is there any way you could install windows onto an ssd using another device then transferring that ssd to your main pc and booting using that?

I would recommend installing only the new NVME in your computer(no other drives) and attempting a fresh install of Windows. If that works then it's an OS issue with your old install and you will just need to transfer your data over to the new one or just simply start over on a fresh install if you don't need anything. If it's still bluescreening after a complete fresh install then that would mean either the NVME drive itself or another hardware component was damaged when you installed it the first time.
