Hi all,

I recently took the RTX 3060 out of a computer I have for our entertainment center to take back with me to school (have it in an eGPU enclosure) and I want to find a good balance of price/performance that suits the computer the new GPU is going in.

I am open to buying both new and used GPUs.

The specs of the machine are:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard
Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Intel 660p 1.02 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card: ??
Case: Corsair iCUE 220T RGB Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA 850 BQ 850 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro OEM - DVD 64-bit
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link Archer TX3000E 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax PCIe x1 Wi-Fi Adapter
Case Fan: Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB Pro 52 CFM 120 mm Fan
Case Fan: Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB ELITE 47.7 CFM 120 mm Fan
Case Fan: Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB ELITE 47.7 CFM 120 mm Fan
Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR4 3600
Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR4 3600
NIC: TP-Link TX401 10GbE PCIe x4 Adapter

I was looking at the RTX 3060-Ti, the 2070 Super, or the 2080.   They all seem expensive though still second hand so I was also considering AMD equivalents.  I would like to be between $200 - $300 on the GPU as this is not a main computer so spending a ton of money on it would not make a lot of sense.

If you need me to follow up on something, please quote or tag me.

On the used market, an RX 5700 XT can save some money and deliver pretty good performance.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?
