Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller stuck at 100Mbps

New build and I'm having an issue with ethernet speed. I'm after full Windows updates and motherboard updates.

I have a 1GB plan and when I connect my laptop to the exact same conection I get about 930Mbps. 

I checked the status>properties>configure>advanced and all of the settings are pretty much the same as the laptop exepct the EEE settings that the laptop doesn't have but I have it on the highsest speed (2.5GB)

Seems like it hapend for a few but I didnt find solutions.. Ideas?

Its the shitty realtek controller, I too have a similiar problem with 1GbE NICs. Have you tried different cables? I sometimes get it to work if I change the cables. You can also try this but, it can be temperamental too.

Make sure you have the actual Realtek drivers installed instead of the Microsoft default ones. The default gigabit drivers are garbage, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 2.5G ones aren't any better.

Didn't try another cable as it seems to workd perfect with the laptop, providing about 930Mbps..

I tried that setting and it didn't fix it..

I doubt that will work. I have also found jiggling the cable sometimes work (hence why I recommended changing the cable).

I just now checked again with the same cable and I got 1GB connection on the laptop.. Won't that mean that it's only from the PC side? 

 

Just tried with two more cables, cat 5e and 6. both provided 1GB connection to a laptop and 100Mbps to the PC.

Are you sure you're downloading the correct driver for your network controller? The term "FE" refers to "Fast Ethernet", which indicates a 100 Mb/s connection.

If you have something better, I'll try it. It says  "Network Interface Controllers > 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet > PCI" on the same page that I downloaded from

Turn off Green Ethernet, Energy Efficient Ethernet, Low Power Ethernet and such options. Also, if there's an option for older switch compatibility, try playing with it.

did all that and still.... 

What does that mean - older switch compatibilty-?

Update - I'ts the Deco fault... 

For some reason when I connect the PC to the main ISP I get 1GB. 

That's still not a solution as the same deco provides my laptop with 1GB so It's still a mystery. Saw some that say it's a QoS issue but I dont have an option to change it on the Deco x20. Any Ideas?

Turnoff Advanced EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) and Gigabit Lite (which maxes speeds at 500 mbps). You may also need to change your Speed and Duplex settings to either Auto Negotiate or 1 gbps full duplex.
