airpod pros on android

Go to solution Solved by Spuriae,

I'm an Android Airpods Pro user. For the most part, setting up the airpods once on an Apple device then using Android afterwards is sufficient.

  • Controls and device name cannot be customized on Android. You can set them on an Apple device once though, and then the new settings will continue to work on Android.
  • You can't access find my device from Android, but you can set it up once on an Apple device and continue using it with Android. If you ever lose the airpods, then you'll need an apple device to track them down again.
  • Ear tip fit test only works on Apple. You typically only do this once during setup though, so again it doesn't affect normal use.
  • Android can't check the charging case's battery. I don't find this to be an issue, because the case has a battery LED.
  • Spatial audio is supposedly supported on Android phones with Dolby Atmos, but I don't use spatial audio so I don't know if this is true. Head tracking might not work.
  • Automatic ear ear detection doesn't work on Android, but I turned it off for my Apple devices too because I don't like the feature to begin with.

im thinking of getting a pair of aipod pros. i have a pc and a windows laptop i also have a iphone. will i have any issues because of my lack of apple things. also will i lose out on any features? i will be used the airpods with my windows laptop and my phone

thanks in advanve

might get some xm4s instead

xm4s are ok but very "consumer tuning" ie boosted bass and recessed treble. does get mitigated by some of the EQ presets.
i havent heard the galaxy buds but they should be tuned better in theory. I liked the moondrop sparks more but they lack many of the features like ANC also they occasionally randomly unpair from each other and i need to put then back in the case and press on them for 5 seconds.
