MY rams wont dual channel :(

Hi聽
i just upgraded my MB and CPU from i5 9400f to r 5 5600聽
and i kept the old rams which were 2*8 2666mz聽
so when i installed everything聽
my ram wont work in dual channel聽
so help will be appretiated to fix that 馃檪
the MB just has 2 ram slots btw
my specs聽
rtx 2060 super聽
asus prime b450 kII
seasonic sii 620 watt
r5 5600聽
2*8 2666mz rams xpg聽

From what I can see they are working in dual channel mode. It displays 2x64bit. CPU-z will also display actual ram speed and not effective RAM speed. Double the speed shown in CPU-z and you will get 2660.聽

Here is my CPU-z window running 3200 sticks. You see 1600 MHz.

CPU-z version 2.0+ will display 2x64 bit. Just update and look. I had to investigate it myself so I updated.聽

Here, same PC as my other screenshot just updated to v2.0.

Because dual channel is two 64-bit buses.

As for why they changed it to show that and not dual, I have no clue. I pondered the meaning of 2x64 bit and thought maybe you were using a really old version, so I checked your screenshot. It was newer than mine 1,9x so I updated and got the same. That's literally all I know hehe.

Probably changed it because of ddr5. Makes sense.聽
