Hello! I was being quite dumb and have learnt my lesson. I was just watching something online on a dodgy website. a popup came up and automatically downloaded something.

Within seconds I deleted it and deleted it from my recycle bin also.

Also cleared my history.

Malwarebytes is showing its clear and everything. What do I do? what should I run?

If your antivirus says you are clean, you are probably clean. Keep an eye out for weird behaviour.

if it needed to download a file to the regular file system downloads folder then it would have needed to actually run to do anything. probably just a fishing attempt but since you didnt run it and just deleted it , then it's deleted.

Malwarebytes full scan didn't show anything. Just scared if there's a keylogger or something.

Bitdefender full scan showed absolutely nothing

Highly doubtful. However, if you're nervous, I recommend backing up your data to an alternate drive/using a drive cloner, then reinstalling windows. Watch for anything abnormal, look for weird startup processes under taskmanager, as well as weird log/temp files hiding in weird places. If you don't decide to format, I recommend you set up 2FA on all your accounts (you should do this anyways). Make sure to set up a 2 factor authentication system that doesn't rely on your computer, since if there WAS a keylogger, having a 2fa system that relied on that computer is pretty much useless anyways.

please tag me for a response, It's really hard to keep tabs on every thread I reply to. thanks!!

was it .msi? It could be a virus, but then again so could an mp3, .exe, or literally any other filetype.

I highly doubt that it's anything to worry about considering malewarebytes says nothing about it. Watch your accounts/email for suspicious logins if you're worried, set up 2fa, or even reformat if you're really that worried. I'd say to just be cautious, and if possible disable auto-downloads in your browser too. I've been in your shoes, not too long ago I was browsing a sketchy site, and had a .exe file download. I just deleted it, scanned with malewarebytes, and that was that. If this ever happens to you again, I recommend you upload the file to a site called virustotal, which submits it to be scanned by a bunch of anti-viruses and it'll tell you if it is/isn't a virus.
