Hi,

I have a Colourful Igame 3060ti OC edition paired with i5 9th gen CPU and Gigabyte B365M motherboard With 2 sticks of ddr4 16gb RAM . My GPU fans ramps up to 3450RPM(100% of my GPU) while at 78°C even though temp limit is set at 83℃, even increased it to 90℃ it did not help. No overclock is applied and no changes is made to nvidia control pannel settings its just factory overclocked. I tried using NVidia fan control settings in performance tab it did not help ,also tried MSI afterburner and it is also not helping. I also reinstalled windows on my PC it also did not work . Yes I have cleaned my GPU fans

I even used Display Driver Uninstaller and clean installed new driver using GeForce experience but same happened .The crazy thing is it only happens in games (only intensive games) and not in stress test like furmark ,MSI kombustor(as it uses OPENGL I guess)but happens in 3d mark as it uses Directx12. While in games it stops display output and then later restarts which is very irritating as it happens every time. But, While in stress test it follows the fan curve settings and goes to 100% fan speed when it hits the temp limit which is normal and does not shutdown. I bought this graphics card 2 years ago and there was no problem till now I don't know what happened . I don't know whether its a hardware problem or software problem. I need this fixed asap as it may damage my GPU

I have linked the video which will show exactly what is happening, it is in 3d mark timespy benchmark while gaming for few hours it black screens and system restarts.

Please help!!

The PCIe link speed is only set to Gen 2? Check that changes under load it should be '@ x16 3.0' on 9th Gen i5s.  To further troubleshoot your particular problem:  What PSU are you using?

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

Silver Stone DA750 80+ gold, Yes it changed to PCIe link speed to gen 3 when on load found out that it was just a power saving thing which kept it to Gen 2. But still same problem.

Basically what you're saying, its overheating,  right?

the pc completely shuts down?

and max temp is 90?

if you can at least say yes to two of those questions... check... visually that all (3?) gpu fans are running.

if they do... replace the thermal paste.

if they don't run all, 3 (i suppose? ) then fix that obviously.

overheating NO, if 78℃ is considered overheating then Yes

PC does not completely shuts down  only the display goes black and I can still hear games sound and afterwards system restarts

yeah max temp limit is set to 90℃ in MSI afterburner

could replace the thermal paste but my problem is only in games and not in stress as mentioned that is why I think it maybe software issue

checked with the fans all three are running

ok so not really overheating (yet)

1 issue is definitely your choice of programs,  fumark and Kombustor?  they are useless,  nvidia will throttle their cards slightly when they detect it, and these programs also never were any good to begin with (other than destroying graphic cards lol...)

superposition is pretty good you just have to run it several times if you really want to test heat build-up (like 3 or 4 times, not more)...

and firestrike... i mean its a good test and benchmark,  maybe not for maximum heat though.

i mean it does sound like the card is fighting temps (btw super counter productive to keep testing for heat in that situation) i can only suggest to replace the thermal paste,  has helped others with similar issues,  or rma if thats still possible.

I think it is overheating, I checked in HWInfo and the Hotspot temp was 104℃ is it normal??

for nvidia?  not really.

like i said you should stop "testing" for heat though, that can actually damage the card when the thermal paste is bad and then you should try to replace the paste,  look up some tutorials or try going to a repair shop or something.
