Macbook touch id error

Hi, so ia have this specific roblem with my macbook pro 15 2016 (updated to macos monterey 12.6.1). Basicaly iam unable to set up Touch id. Whenever i try to "add a fingerprint" it immediately spit the "unable to comlete id registration".

I've tried booting macbook into safe mode and the touch id setting is for some reason not even showing as an option. Restarting SMC didn't worked out as well. I have no other idea what to do, please heeelp.

Did it work before or with a different finger? It might not recognize your fingerprint if it is too dry.

 

Easiest would be to go to your local AppleStore and get them diagnose the issue, or try to find a good mac-repair place if no official store around.
