Cannot find new RTX 3080 anywhere

So I need to buy a new GPU, my current GTX 1070 is failing. My price limit is about $700 USD (maybe can go just a bit over). Looking at how much these usually went for, the RTX 3080 seemed perfect. (The normal version, not Ti or anything). I can't seem to find any in stock anywhere though that are not like over $1,000. Are they still making these? There are 1070 Ti's available, but they seem way too expensive for the performance they offer (around $650). Looking at the newer cards, the 40 series is -way- too expensive, with the 4080 like $1,200, so that's not an option at all.

 

I was wondering if anyone knew if or where these might be back in stock, or if there's a better option for me that i'm not considering. I'd like to stick with nVidia cards, if possible.

6600xt is a nice step up and cheap, could go for a 6900xt maybe

I bet Nvidia don't produce it anymore to sell some overpriced 4080 

Look at 6800xt or 6900xt instead

They've been trying to shift 30 series stock for a while so if they're gone, don't get hopes up for a restock. How much performance is needed? 3070 is great for anything below 4k and still a major step up from a 1070.

The 3080s are out of production.  You will have to either wait for the 4070ti coming January 5 (likely $900), get a used on on ebay,  or buy a 3070ti for about $600 - $700.  Or you can buy AMD, especially if you're not interested in ray-tracing.  If you have an interest in ray-tracing, I would avoid the 6000 series.

Why do you need to stick with Nvidia cards?  

 

It's like only buy usa!!!!  Uhm, there are other options.  Open your mind , not your wallet.

 

AMD GPUs are cheaper , a 6900xt will spank a 3080 for less money.

Definitely.  I figured since he was fine with previous gen, the 6900xt would be fine .

 

Not an rtx follower here.  It's nice but I rarely notice lighting in-game anyway.

Same dilemma with my GTX 1070. Prices of high end RTX and RX gpus are still WAAAAAAY too high, so just waiting for the RX 7900XTX to launch. If you can hold on a bit more, there are about to be much more GPUs available for some finally reasonable prices.
