Before anyone burns me at the stake here, yes even I've told my dad hundreds of times how inaccurate WEI is.  But this one even makes me wonder.

2 Western Digital HD's

Both SATA II

Both 80GB

1 is a 10k RPM Raptor

1 is a 5400RPM

5400 RPM registers a 5.4 where as the 10k registers a 5.1.  I have 2 80GB Raptors identical make and model and both show a 5.1.... strange huh?

Specs: Core I7-2600K @ 4.5GHz @ 1.35V, 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance Black 1600MHz CL9, Cooler Master Evo 212, MSI Z77 Mpower Motherboard, Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X @ 1000/1400, Cooler Master HAF 932 Blue Edition w/ 3 Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 120MM fans (2 up top 1 in the bottom) replaced side panel with a window, and rear fan with a Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 140MM, Cooler Master GX 650 80+ Bronze PSU, Samsung DVD-RW, Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD, Seagate 750GB SATA III 7200RPM

The 80GB Raptors came out in 2004, windows 7 came out in 2009, those Raptors are old, I have a 300GB raptor, that no longer works(click of death) :( and it was rated 5.1 by WEI as well. maybe some of the newer 10K HDDs might get more then 5.1 but pretty much if you want a higher score then that, SSD is the only way to go.

Oh I know, my 840 Pro is a 7.9/7.9.  It's just strange that 2 SATA II drives are registering lower than a SATA II 5400RPM drive.  They are both the same age.  Current SATA II/III 7200RPM drives register 5.9

Specs: Core I7-2600K @ 4.5GHz @ 1.35V, 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance Black 1600MHz CL9, Cooler Master Evo 212, MSI Z77 Mpower Motherboard, Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X @ 1000/1400, Cooler Master HAF 932 Blue Edition w/ 3 Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 120MM fans (2 up top 1 in the bottom) replaced side panel with a window, and rear fan with a Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 140MM, Cooler Master GX 650 80+ Bronze PSU, Samsung DVD-RW, Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD, Seagate 750GB SATA III 7200RPM

hmmmm, that is strange bro, now that does not sound right :( I never really looked at it that way, I always amused it rated the raptor that lower is because it was made way before windows 7
