Yup, it will work fine

I have a extra m.2 ssd card but my computer only has one slot, is there a external thing I can use to be able to use that?

You would want either a pcie card with nvme slots on it or an enclosure with usb/usbc like the link below.

It will work, but chances are it won't work the same way as PCIe card would work.

If you connect it through USB, your OS will most likely treat it as a removable drive, and things like TRIM will not work (TRIM support on USB controllers are very hit and miss).

I strongly recommend you go with a PCIe card unless you absolutely have to move the drive around. The performance will probably be higher (although probably negligible in your use case) and chances are the drive will work better (because of things like TRIM).

How should we know? We dont know if your m.2 drive is NVMe or Sata based, the one in the link doesnt support m.2 sata based ssd's.
