Hi Everyone,

I'm a college student that will use the system for CAD modeling, coding and AAA gaming on weekly. I am planning to get the i7-12700k + Asus TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI @  350USD at microcenter, bought Samsung 980Pro 2tb W/Heatsink @ 200USD and EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P5 1000 W 80+ Platinum @ 115USD earlier this year. Thus, my remaining budget for the system would be around 1085USD. (Planning to wait for next gen mid range gpu)

I would like to ask for some advice on my part selection and if i needed some additional power chords or any additional cooling fans. Pls help me out and i really appreciate for you to read through the post.
(i already have a 1440p monitor)

Recommend another Noctua 120mm fan for the top-back of the case. That's about all I can recommend for now. You said first build though? So you have no current gpu? Intel's integrated graphics won't cut it btw. You'll want at least a RTX 3060 12GB gpu.

Damn you also got a really good deal on a 1000w psu, its even platinum rated

Though

Ram is a really bad buy cause cas does not do shit for performance for the voltage or $ you dump into it. Just get some 3200 cl16 which seem to be going ~65$ now. If you want faster than 3600c18 then overclocking is the only way and you literally cant buy your way through (4000+ bins have horrid subtimings = horrid performance, bdie bins have trash xmp vs oc capabilities)

The case is just terrible for the price if price is accurate to pcpp, a similar case would be the lancool 215/216 though the cheapest good case you can get seems to be the fractal focus 2

Otherwise build looks ok

Thank you for the suggestions! I'm thinking of waiting for the next gen mid-tier gpu and thats why im leaving it blank! (1000W PSU should be able to handle anything except 4090 ig)

I didn't realized that ram doesnt gives much of a performance boost on the choice of selection that are limited. I'll definitely aim to get the best ram and case in terms of price for performance. Thank you for the detailed explanation!

Do not wait for nex gen mid range gpu because  they are probably be expensive and rtx 4070 is rumored to lunch in June 2023 (rtx 4060 will lunch even later).

Coling you have is unnecessary in my oppinion, dual 120mm aio or some good aircoler is enough.

would Noctua NH-D15S be a better option?
