Hey Everyone,

A couple of questions right off the bat:

  1. My GPU 0 is set to be the 'dedicated' GPU (3050ti), is that normal?
  2. Whenever I set programs, such as games, to run on the GPU, the usage shows 0%. I have already set programs to run on the dedicated GPU, but usage still shows to be 0%. Why is that?

Game Running, GPU 0% Usage
Game running, NVIDIA Icon Tray

I contacted ASUS Support to see their findings, however, they just told me to do a BIOS RESET and SYSTEM RESET.

They did not explain (reply pending) what really happened and whether it was normal.

Model: M7400QE
Asus VIVOBOOK Pro 14X (3050ti vers)

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

How did you do that? I usually do it via settings > Display > graphics settings (the bottom most setting "link") and there you can set your game (you have to locate the .exe unless it's a windows store app) to run in high power mode(on your 3050) or in power saving mode (on your iGPU). That has always worked for me. Windows for example automatically set Minecraft to run on my iGPU on my laptop and I was wondering why I was only getting 45FPS with a 1660Ti. So when I found out that it was actually running on my iGPU, I went to that setting and set the minecraft java executable to run on my 1660Ti.

Hello DreamCat04,

Thanks for taking the time.

The 'override' was already done prior to taking the screenshots. The NVIDIA tray monitoring shows that the game is running on the dedicated (3050Ti) card. I did the same thing as mentioned in your reply.

What puzzles me more is that ASUS Support just responded after 24hrs that this is not normal and that they suggest I reset my PC. Thing is, I have already installed a lot of apps that cannot be restored if I do it.

I'll try to see what I can do and update accordingly.

Thanks again.
