some advice please...

hi, im looking to upgrade me nvidia GTX 660 to a GTX 780. i am currently running:-
 
motherboard: MSI z77a GD65
CPU: i5 3570 at 4GHZ
GPU: GTX 660
PSU: Antec TruePower Classic 550w '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply. recently bought. 

SSD: smasung PRO evo 840 250 gb. also a 500gb HDD.

 

just wondered if i could possibly run a GTX 780? but was think about the PSU.

have seen on other sites where they say minimum PSU wattage is 600w for the 780.

 

any help would a appreciated

i have, just wanted to be safe. i think the cooler master said 439w. and im ruinning 550w.

You'll be perfectly fine. Under 500w is about right for that setup.

You should be able to run a 780 with that PSU.

You should be fine with the Power Supply, I would suggest later upgrading it, as power supplies can degrade over time. I suggest Corsair Power Supplies but that is just me. I know you didn't ask for this but I'd say get more ram, current systems can leverage more ram in some new games and even better with your a hard core tag abuser like Linus. Best Wishes Comrade.

No problem, I may not have read correctly,  but if you have 16gb - you'll be more than fine.

He's fine. Even with worst case scenario degradation, the psu he has is plenty.

The true power line of psus is excellent.
