New PC Build (Third Build)

Go to solution Solved by Ryuikko,

The 11700k is pretty old, a 13700k is more suited for this budget.

You can easily upgrade your monitor to a 1440p or 4k one if wanted, I included a good 1440p one. If you don't plan to upgrade though then get whatever cheaper between a 6700 and 6750xt

Budget (including currency): 3500 CAD dollars or more (depends of the graphic cards)

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Pretty much any game that will come out in the next year and games already released

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So, the build is gonna be a new build from the scratch every piece will be new. I will do a list of the new pieces I want. I have classic monitor so i'm playing at a resolution of 1920x1080 at 144hz (I have dual monitor, exact same one aka BenQ XL2411). My current build is good, but I have it for almost 4 years already, so it's a little late for some games.

So this is my new build:

 New build:

- CPU: i7-11700K Desktop Processor 8 Cores up to 5.0 GHz Unlocked LGA1200

- Motherboard: Rog Strix Z590-E

- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) (x2 to have 64GB)

- CPU cooler: Corsair ICUE H100i RGB Pro

- Graphic cards: EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 XC3 8GB GDDR6 or ASUS ROG Strix NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti OC 8GB

- Stockage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD (For Windows) + Western Digital Blue 4 TB 2.5" SSD (For games) + Western Digital Blue 6 TB 3.5" 5400 RPM HDD (For other things)

- Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow mid-tower

- Power Supply: Corsair RMX Series™ RM850x 80 plus full modular

Okay I see thank you very much, but I see that you use a ventirad for the CPU cooler. I have to say I have a preference for watercooling.

PS: If I wanted, is the build I choose is okay even if its a little bit old ? Because I just want to make sure that all the pieces are compatible.

A 11700K ? Whyyy ? 🙂 And only a 3070 ?? 😞

I'd suggest a much stronger 13700K/6900XT build with a 360 watercooling and a nice case, C$3000 :

Thank to you both. I will also save this PCPartPicker so I dont't lose them. I'm seeing that both you chose AMD graphics card. Is it because the Nvidia is not that much good or there is something I don't know about them. And I have always use Nvidia, so I might have a preference for this one, but if both of you chose AMD, I guess it's because it's better than Nvidia.

Make sure to quote or @Ryuikko so we can see your replies

Theres nothing wrong with nvidia cards, but they are usually more expensive to amd cards for not that much more performance. In gaming, amd gpus are the way to go for bang for the buck

@Ryuikko On the PC PartPicker, it says that I'll need to update the BIOS to make compatible the CPU and to have the BIOS F20, is it necessary and if so, is it difficult to do it ? On both build, yours and the other one of @PDifolco

Thanks !

Updating BIOS is easy all Z690 boards have "flashback" feature - put the BIOS on an USB stick, the stick in the correct USB conenctor, click the button and you're done !

Are you asking about amds equilivent to geforce experience? Uhhhhhhh, amd crimson (I think?). You'd have to get a second opinion on this though since I'm not to sure
