12th gen intel issues

Go start bar type In  msconfig and u will find a option called boot threads or something like that and it will be set to 12 untick the box and reboot 

 

10000 percent the issue I had this problem on Ryzen 1700 5 years ago

 

basicaly what u have done is locked the cpu to 12 threads which is 6 cores with hyperthreading

im confused on whats going on i thought my i7 12700 was supposed to have 12 cores and 20 threads could it just be a windows 10 problem. iv looked around as much as i can getting late for bed. was wondering if you guys had any ideas. much appreciated

Here are the exact specifications of the i7 12700. I am not sure how it shows up in windows as I have actually never gotten to experience newer processors than my 10th gen i7.

Edit: looks like it is only showing the P Cores.

Are you using default bios and Windows boot settings?

try unchecking the number of processors thing you have there. it should automatically use as many as available.

Here are my screenshots from Windows 11 for 12700k. I'm wondering if it's a Windows 10 issue... run your updates, update your bios, check all settings again

i just built the thing got the bundle from micro center it was a i7 12700 with a asus tuf gaming z690 plus wifi d4. ugh pcs can be a pain but love them dearly
