So I currently have an i5-8500T in my main rig, paired with a VEGA 64.

The i5 is a low-power CPU which is rated at 35w TDP.

I have an LC-CC-85 LC Power Cosmo Cooler like this. It is an air cooler rated at 70w TDP.

I have a 120mm front intake fan connected to a molex with the PSU, also a rear exhaust fan which is 90mm I think, smaller one.

GPU Idle Temp (C): 32c

CPU Idle Temp (C): 38c

GPU Max Temp (C): 77c

CPU Max Temp (C): 75c

I am just crazy about cooling, the max temps are a bit too hot for my liking. I would have wished them to cap out at 68-70c at the maximum. It's an obsession of mine. For this build I will leave it as it is but for the future I want some suggestions, mainly:

1) If let's say I have an i5 CPU rated at 65w, does getting a 150w rated one much better than getting a 100w rated CPU cooler?

2) How many intake fans should I install? Are for example two 120mm fans in the front as intake, and one 120mm as exhaust at the back enough? Or should I install on top as well?

I'm sorry if these sound as stupid questions, I've been building PCs long but not long enough it seems, as I'm always learning.

Budget Gamer at heart.

Tdp rating is garbage, look at the newer cpus particularly 13900k which can consume 400w+ apparently even though tdp is around 200w (too lazy to check =p)

Your temps are fine, best thing you can really do is delid the cpu and swap that garbage dried up tim for some liquid metal (prefferable) or thermal paste since either of those will be far better than the garbage stock tim

I agree that the temps are fine, but if you, @Brandi93, really want to stay below 70°C (which is easily achievable), you can indeed try delidding the CPU if you're comfortable with it and clean off the old thermal paste and re-apply new thermal paste like the noctua one or thermal grizzly cryonaut (the pink thermal paste) or even liquid metal if you want to. Just make sure that you cover 100% of the die, there shouldn't be ANY spots that aren't covered by thermal paste
